Volunteering Opportunities at St. Luke’s Thrift Store
There are two ways you can help out at the St. Luke’s Thrift Store. You can help us pack and load at our estate sale pickups (normally twice a month in Johnson County) or you can come down to our inner city thrift store on 18th and Central to assist shoppers. Literally, 70% of those who come through our doors do not speak English very well. Working at the store is like taking a short term mission trip. Volunteers can bring their children.
St. Luke’s Thrift Store in Need of More Space – Please Donate
A need St. Luke’s Thrift Store is trying to fill is raising funds ($12,000) to open a new and larger location.
We have outgrown our current location and need a larger space to better serve our community. The goals for the new location are to create jobs, provide more space for merchandise and provide better parking for customers. The current St. Luke’s Thrift Store is located at 18th and Central Streets, Kansas City, Kansas.
Year-End Charitable Contributions Cheerfully Accepted.
Many individuals wait until year-end to make charitable contributions. As a qualified 501c3 Non-Profit Organization, donations to the Mission of St. Luke can be tax deductible (consult with your tax advisor or CPA for details).
Any financial donations we receive are used to help us expand our services to the Latinos of Kansas City and Wyandotte County, Kansas. Please join with us in making a lasting impact in our community.
For more information about donating to the Mission of St. Luke – La Misión de San Lucas – or to become involved in other ways, please contact The Rev. Gene Flanery, The Mission of St. Luke. Phone or text 913-706-6766.
